چکیده
One potential application of magnetized RE-Ba-Cu-O (where RE = rare earth or Y) bulk superconductors is as a high-field alternative to conventional permanent magnets in desktop NMR and MRI systems. Pulsed field magnetization (PFM) one the most promising practical methods magnetizing such bulks. However, trapped fields obtained by PFM are much lower than those using quasi-static like field-cooling (FCM) due heating during PFM. Furthermore, superconducting rings have proved more difficult magnetize via discs. The reported single less 0.35 T at centre bore thermomagnetic instabilities. In this work, systematic measurements on Gd-Ba-Cu-O ring were carried out 1.3 55 K was achieved multi-pulse, stepwise cooling (MPSC) method. MPSC method, sequence pulsed used bulk. increased small increments sample temperature decreased sequentially. Consequently, some already after first pulse, motion flux for subsequent pulses will be reduced, leading heat generated sample. This greatly improves stability process, enabling larger fields.

A new ring-shape high-temperature superconducting trapped-field magnet
This paper presents a new trapped-field magnet made of second-generation high-temperature superconducting (2G HTS) rings. This so-called ring-shape 2G HTS magnet has the potential to provide much stronger magnetic fields relative to existing permanent magnets. Compared to existing 2G HTS trappedfield magnets, e.g. 2G HTS bulks and stacks, this new ring-shape 2G HTS magnet is more flexible in si...
متن کاملThe effect of stabilizer on the trapped field of stacks of superconducting tape magnetized by a pulsed field
Stacks of high temperature superconducting tape, magnetized using pulsed fields, provide a new type of permanent magnet using superconductors. To optimize the trapped field in such stacks, the role of stabilization layers was investigated by pulse magnetizing a 12 mm square stack of 15 tape layers over a temperature range of 15–77 K. The stacks consisted of commercial tape with a silver stabili...
متن کاملThree-dimensional calculations of the magnetic fields in a finite superconducting hollow cylinder in an applied axial magnetic field
In this study, a set of self-consistent coupled-integral equations for the local magnetic flux and current distributions in a finite superconducting hollow cylinder under an axial magnetic field has been directly derived by using the Biot-Savart law within the framework of the critical-state model. The equations were first solved numerically in the three-dimensional space before obtaining the h...
متن کاملPulsed-field studies of the magnetization reversal in molecular nanomagnets
We report experimental studies of crystals of Mn12 molecular magnetic clusters in pulsed magnetic fields with sweep rates up to 43103 T/s. The steps in the magnetization curve are observed at fields that are shifted with respect to the resonant field values. The shift systematically increases as the rate of the field sweep goes up. These data are consistent with the theory of the collective dip...
